2: Arrival?

GM Comments and Notes
This is the bit where I make corrections or add things I forgot about.
So firstly some corrections....
-
The Ship does have both an Anti-Grav Loader (for handling ISO containers) and a Mechanical Loader (for handling the smaller crates)
-
Jace Corso is not on the list of owners. The two other names on the owners list are Aeron Vash and Silas Switzer.
The Antigrav loader sort of resembles a cross between a crab and a spider. It has an upper section about 0.5m thick which is ovoid in shape (possibly more like a compressed circle, about 1.5 times longer than it is wide). This section is 5m long and 2m wide. Below this are 3 pairs of arms which extend sideways and then down. These extend the width to a little over 3m, length to 10m overall, ang hand down by about 0.2m. These lock onto the loading points on the top of the containers.
The mechanical loader is similar to those in the Alien movie. It's approximately 9ft tall, 4.5ft wide and 3.5ft deep. It has a pair of heavy duty mechanical arms which can pick up containers upto 1.2m high and upto 2.4m long, with a maximum lifting weight of 3 tonnes.
When you were exploring the ship, you came across 2 state rooms that
appear to have just been abandoned (and abandoned some time ago, at
least several months altough it was difficult to tell exactly how
long). They still had an array of personal possessions that just appear
to have been left as they were. The states rooms belonged to Aeron Vash
and Silas Switzer.
Arrival?
We start the session with Three wanting desperately to find a way into the Vault
He manages to persude Six to join him in the task, but is disappointed when the Android informs him she knows nothing about what is in the vault, nor how to gain entry to it. It's also "isolated" from all other ship systems, other than it draws power directly from the Reactor. It's also shielded.
Faced with this new information, they decide what they really need is somebody who understands 'Tech' viz Five. Five however wants nothing to do with the Vault. It gives her a sense of dread, not exactly a sense of forebody but she is really reticent to go anywhere near it. She can't really explain it but it contains 'Secrets'. No matter how hard they try an persuade her she is not going to go anywhere near the vault.
Eventually they reach the conclusion that there is nothing they can do for the time being and give up.
Time ticks by until an hour before emergence when the Android anounces they will be dropping out of FTL in an hours time. People gather on the bridge in preporation for their arrival.
They drop out of FTL into orbit around Alaris 6, a more or less unremarkable habitable world, except it is the only world in the narrow habitable band around the star. Aside from a couple of Gas Giants, a couple of ice planets, and a couple of rock balls the most notable other feature of the system are the twin substabtial asteroid belts.
They set to, to scan the planet, finding one very feint and minimal energy signature, and one more substantive one. The minimal signature is about 1000Km south of the more Northerly and substantive one, which is situated in the approximate middle of the largest continent in the Northen Hemisphere, at approx 60deg North, in the middle of a range of substantial mountains.
The Northern and more substantive signature appears to be a complex of builidngs. Attempts at communication elicit no response.
The decision is made to go and investigate. Six takes the helm of the shuttle and the Android is left on board to mind the shop.
Six approaches the complex from the south, to avoid complications cause by needing to pick a flight path through the mountains. The buidling on the southern edge of the complex, along the top of the cliff edge, appears to be some form of glass house, although it appears to have and auxillary roof of some sort. It's noticible that almost all the buildings have steep (approx 52deg) roofs, something typically found in climate thats experience heavy snowfall, and fairly large accumulations of snow.
The Western Edge of the complex is delimited by a large black granite Intrusion (approx 30ft to 70ft high along it's length) although this is cut in two by a ravine that runs from north of the complex southwards. On the Northern side of the complex, a short distance away from the northern edge of the main complex building the ravine appears to be spanned by a bridge/dam which dams the river flowing in the ravine from the north. The river reappears in the ravine adjacent to the southwest corner of the complex. The ravine itself is 20ft to 30ft wide at the top and 4ft to 7ft wide at its base, and 20ft to 25ft deep. The river to the north is 3 to 4 feet deep where it abuts the dam and quite fast flowing. At a guess the planet is in an early autumn phase so the river is probably at its most sluggish and lowest level.
A gravel/crushed stone road exits the northen edge of the complex. One arm of the road heads approximately NorthEast up one of the three valleys that meet at this point. The other arm heads west across the bridge/dam, before branching, one arm continuing west and the other heading south. The southern branch wraps around the northern and western edge of an area of flattened/crushed stone that appears to serve as a landing area for shuttles.
Between the glasshouse and the 'main' building on the western side of the complex is another square building 3 stories high with a domed roof on top. A smaller two storey building demarks the Eastern edge of the complex. A set of power lines exit the southeast corner of the square domed building, linking to a pylon located in the southeast corner of the complex. The power lines continue off southwards into the distance.
The complex appears to be deserted.
Six puts the shuttle down in the landing and Three disembarks as if expecting to be ambushed by and elite military force at any second. The landing area is also completely deserted.
The party with Three on point make their way up the road, and across the dam. Five correctly surmises that it must be some form of water intake for the complex.
Three cautiosiouly makes his way into the interior of what appears to be some sort of glass roofed warehouse type area. Blocking what appears to be the roadway through the building, some 60ft away appears to be some form of large mining truck with a dozer shovel. The shovel is about 15ft wide and 7ft high. To the right in the 20ft long entry tunnel is an industrial fork lift and just infront of it a door which leads into a washroom facility.
To the left beyond the tunnel is a set of steel rails about 4ft high which form a sort of crash barrier. Pallets of steel and wooden beams are stacked behind this forming a neat barrier/baricade. To the right parked down the side of the road way are three heavy 4 door 4/8 trucks. It is earily quiet.
Three nakes his way toward the dozer, noting the 2nd storey walkway above him and 2 his left. Slinging the BFG he hauls himself up on to the dozer shovel to look into the cab. As he determines that the cab is empty he notices the three people below him and several on the walkway that all have guns pointed directly at him. A male voice says " I think that's far enough."
Three then proceeds to dig himself and everyone else into a hole, although he does manage to empart that they are here to make a delivery. He tries to explain that he has no idea who Ferris Corp is by the fact that he sustained a recent head injury. There is a sarcastic comment that it must have been really servere.
Continiung to dig the hole by offering help against Ferris, he does manage to elicit that Ferris want the planet because it's the only Hab 1 planet in the system, and they need it to mine the Asteroid belt, and they don't share.
He also manages to establish that the Miners are expecting a
shipment of weapons arranged for by somebody called Rothgar, whom
they've paid in advance. They need military grade weapons to be able to
take on the Razza, although nobody seems to know exactly who what they
are, as nobody has ever survived and encounter with them. They are
variously described a half man/half reptile some 8ft tall with a
viscous reputation, but they are know to work for Ferris Corp as
mercs/fixers.
Two eventually intervenes and drags Three away, telling the miners they'll be back with their shipment and they need to discuss things in light of the information they've just gleaned.
Back on board the ship, Three asks the Android if she's got anywhere with the Data Recovery. She says that yes she has and if they'd all like to come to the briefing room she'll share what she's found.
She starts by pulling up a badly corrupted picture of a male individual. She has no idea who he is and this is the best she's been able to do with the picture.
She then starts brining up Galactic Authority Warrents/Records for the crew..
